Compared to D type bearings, W design bearings have a larger contact opening and also have the highest number
of small balls. As a result, very high speeds can be accommodated, yet the load carrying capacity is not as high as
that of D-design bearings.

The W design bearings are only available as hybrid bearings (rollers made of bearing grade silicon nitride), with
lifetime sealed cartridge lubrication and angular contact ball bearings with a contact angle of 18°. The new cage
design has high stability at low and medium speeds, reducing noise and vibration levels. It is available as a single
bearing in a common mating set or as a pair of two bearings in a back-to-back or tandem configuration.
